Sri Lankan TV channels

Some of the most well-known channels include Rupavahini, which is the national television network and mainly focuses on news, educational programs, and cultural shows. ITN (Independent Television Network) is another government-owned channel that provides a mix of news, dramas, and local programs.

Private channels are also very popular. Sirasa TV is widely loved for its entertaining reality shows, dramas, and music programs. Derana TV is known for its high-quality teledramas and news, attracting a large audience. Hiru TV is famous for its modern and youth-oriented content.

In addition, channels like Swarnavahini and TV1 also contribute to the media industry by offering a variety of programs.

‘ Waiting for Our Academic Journey to Begin🎓’  I am currently a first-year student at the University of Visual and Performing Arts. In our batch, most students were born in 2004, but there are also students born in 2002, 2003, and 2005. However, the sad situation is that although we completed our G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in 2023–2024 and were selected to the university in the same year, we are still at home. Our academic activities started online in September 2025, but even by February 2026, we are still not attending to physical lectures.            We were supposed to start physical lectures on the 23rd of March 2026, but due to a global issue, it was postponed again. As students, we truly wish to start our academic journey on time, complete our degree within the proper period, and move forward with our own careers and lives. The most unforgettable role in my life

           ‘  The period I spent as the head prefect of my school  ’    is my most unforgettable leading role in my life. I am the former head prefect of St.Sebastian’s Central College Katuneriya in 2022-2023.                         My school was established on 1873 AD. Since that period onwards, I am the first and only head prefect that emerged from the dancing section. During my duty period there were 90 prefects under me and the other head prefect girl , such as 4 Deputy head prefects , 58 senior prefects and 28 junior prefects.
