Ghunghroo

‘  Ghunghroo ’  is a very special and meaningful part of my life. It is not just an ornament. It is a symbol of dedication, discipline, and passion for dance. As someone who wears ghunghroo, I feel a deep connection to it every time I tie it around my ankles.

The sound of the ghunghroo is not just music. It is a voice. It speaks through my movements and expresses my emotions. When I dance, every step I take creates a rhythm, and that rhythm tells a story. It is a beautiful feeling to hear the sound of the bells moving in perfect harmony with my steps.

Wearing ghunghroo also carries responsibility. It reminds me to stay focused, to practice regularly, and to respect the art of dance. It is not easy to wear ghunghroo. It requires strength, balance and patience. But with time, it becomes a part of who I am.

For kathak dancers , ghunghroo is more than just a part of dance. It is a part of our identity. It gives us confidence, joy, and a sense of purpose. Whenever I perform, I feel proud to wear my ghunghroo, because it shows my love and commitment to my art.

Being a ghunghroo wearer is not just about dancing. It is about expressing myself, telling my story, and connecting with others through rhythm and movement.
